How it Works Prosthetic Protector How to use and how to size the Dry Pro Waterproof Prosthetic protector with instructional video.
Waterproof DRYPro Prosthetic How To Video
Step 1: Trim for Your Perfect Fit
Stretch on the Dry Pro over the leg to see how it fits.
If the Dry Pro is too tight, you can trim 1/4 in ch along the lines
towards the top of the opening and try it on again. Be sure not to trim
too much, as a tight seal is needed for the vacuum to work. Stretch the
Dry Pro over the prosthetic so the top fits smooth against the skin.
Allow some slack as the vacuum will remove the excess material.
Step 2: Slide On Slide the protector over the prosthetic limb so that it
is completely covered. The Dry Pro should fit snug and comfortable on
the upper leg. The opening should be flush along the skin. Make sure to
pull the boot flat against the sole so the bottom of the protector with
the Non-Skid Grid lies flat against the ground.
Step 3: Pump Out all the Air
Continuously press the pump until all the air is
evacuated and the pump becomes flat. Move your arm around and make sure
the seal remains intact, then remove the pump and put the cap on. After
creating the vacuum seal, observe the Dry Pro for about 5 minutes
before going into the water. In order to remove the Dry Pro simply
slide your fingers under the top cuff to let the air in and slide it
off.
It's that simple!
Notes: Do not leave the DRYPro on for extended periods of time. We recommend removing it after every 45 minutes of use. Do not use in vascular compromised patients. Steady yourself in wet slippery areas. Always follow your doctor's advice.
